Exploring Topics in Bibliometric Research Through Citation Networks and Semantic Analysis.

This article surveys topic distributions of the academic literature that employs the terms bibliometrics, scientometrics, and informetrics. This exploration allows informing on the adoption of those terms and publication patterns of the authors acknowledging their work to be part of bibliometric research. We retrieved 20,268 articles related to bibliometrics and applied methodologies that exploit various features of the dataset to surface different topic representations. Across them, we observe major trends including discussions on theory, regional publication patterns, databases, and tools. There is a great increase in the application of bibliometrics as science mapping and decision-making tools in management, public health, sustainability, and medical fields. It is also observed that the term bibliometrics has reached an overall generality, while the terms scientometrics and informetrics may be more accurate in representing the core of bibliometric research as understood by the information and library science field. This article contributes by providing multiple snapshots of a field that has grown too quickly beyond the confines of library science

Structural behavior of reinforced concrete slab rigid frame bridge with h-shaped steels

The authors proposed a reinforced concrete slab bridge with H-shaped steels which has high load-carrying capacity in order to reduce the construction cost. Our past study clarified that H-shape steels without stud dowel and concrete could compose hybrid section and static load was equally distributed each H-shaped steel in elasticity stage. Considering the described above it is possible to design this type of bridge as composite. Moreover it clarified that the cyclically loaded this type bridge has the high fatigue capacity and load-carrying capacity as same as the statically (non- cyclically) loaded that bridge. As next step the authors proposed a reinforced concrete slab rigid frame bridge with H-shaped steels in order to reduce the maintenance cost and to increase seismic performance. Especially the rigid connection method of H-shaped steel and re-bar in the abutments was proposed. Then the static loading test was carried out to grasp load-carrying capacity. As the results of the experiment destructive behavior of the reinforced concrete slab rigid frame bridge with H-shaped steels was clarified and also the validity of the connection method was clarified

Detection of Diatomic Molecules in the Dust Forming Nova V2676 Oph

Novae are generally considered to be hot astronomical objects and show effective temperatures up to 10,000 K or higher at their visual maximum. But, it is theoretically predicted that the outer envelope of the nova outflow can become cool enough to form molecules that would be dissociated at high temperatures. We detected strong absorption bands of C2 and CN radicals in the optical spectrum of Nova V2676 Oph, a very slow nova with dust formation. This is the first report of the detection of C2 and the second one of CN in novae during outburst. Although such simple molecules are predicted to form in the envelope of the outflow based on previous studies, there are few reports of their detection. In the case of V2676 Oph, the presence of the molecular envelope is considered to be very transient, lasting several days only

Spectroscopic Monitoring Observations of Nova V1724 Aql in 2012

Spectroscopic and photometric monitoring observations of nova Apl 2012 (V1724 Apl) were conducted at Koyama Astronomical Observatory, Fujii-Kurosaki Observatory and Bisei Astronomical Observatory. The nova was initially considered as an outbursting pre-main-sequence young stellar object. Our monitoring observations have revealed the nova to be a Fe II type classical nova. The temporal evolution of spectra and light curves of the nova were similar to those of a slow nova (e.g., V1280 Sco and V5558 Sgr). We observed no evidence of molecule formation in V1724 Aql in contrast with V2676 Oph in which dust formation occurred after the molecular formation in the nova outflow
